Support for both Quadro FX 4800 for Mac and GeForce GTX 285 for MAC Update for compatibility with the new Apple driver release If you would like to be notified of upcoming drivers for Mac OS X, please subscribe to the newsletter. I've got a Quadro FX 4800 (PC) that I would like to flash with the Mac EFI ROM, if possible. Has anyone had success with this? I understand it's.

The only catch is that the most PC versions of this card come with one dvi port & two display ports. The Apple version has dual DVI. There are PC versions with dual DVI to match the Apple's version. But they are pretty hard to find. The one I flashed was a PNY quadro FX 4800Does this mean you can only run one display off the single DVI connector? Also, I have an Intel workstation board with EFI (S5520SCR), and the 4800 isn't detected if the BIOS is set to EFI-only mode.
I suspect this is the same problem with Mac boards, which are exclusively EFI if I am not mistaken. I'd like to get the card working with the Intel board as well. I suppose the EFI flash would resolve both of these issues.Loggedmacjunkie. I will email you the fx 4800 rom tonight, the card I flashed had dual dvi ports. So with your card the dvi port should at least work with the unedited fx4800 rom.
I also am working getting FX5600 mac rom, as the PC versions of this card for some reason are cheaper to buy than the PC FX4800.The FX5600 is a G80 based card from 2006/7 era.So, 2 generations before the FX4800.Nvidia's naming scheme borders on outright misrepresentation. I imagine they have some explanation for it, but to most 'bigger number' = 'better' and 'faster'.not the case here.Logged. I know it's kinda rude. But I really need help here. Is it possible that you share the quadro FX4800 EFI ROM? It'd really help me out since we really don't have extra budget for one 4800 from apple store. It'd be very nice of you to do such.
We really appreciate it.It wouldn't matter unless you swap the ROM on the card with a larger capacity one. The PC version has only a 64K ROM, which is too small to hold combined EFI/BIOS code for the FX 4800 (Mac).

We need to unsolder it and solder a ROM of appropriate capacity.macjunkie, since you've done the swap already, what is the part number for the larger capacity ROM? I can see if it is available from Digi-Key in the US. Or, if anyone else can recommend the correct size ROM, please let me know so I can order it.Logged.
