![]() The B E A uty of opinions are we all have them,Look at some of my posts, ive asked codemasters to add all the assits under the sun, am just also asking for options online to force them all off, everyone should be able to race how they wish, currently that isnt the case,You start a poll asking for a virtual mirror but also a option to force it off, in a online lobby. I Remember we had this discussion in the a few weeks back.Virtual mirrors might be one approach.I would prefer a 'radar' system like in ACC, or as a mod in AC.Would fit perfectly in the HALO.Unfortunately CM has their own philosophy of 'HUD' elements ( and the dash, but that's another, never ending story).Either you have the same monitor as I have (Samsung 49') or you're using TrackIR (as I do), or both.I can understand the people well asking for some kind of virtual mirror. It definitely works fine for running by myself, but we'll see how it is with other cars on the track.ĮDIT #2: Maybe I'll do 50 degrees for a little wider view than it calculated so I can see the gauges better.Īctually, I forgot I can change the FOV in-car with the F9 screen, anyways, so it's not very risky to give it a try.To race with like minded people, works both ways,I dont try to force anyone to race the same way as I do, people who do, do so cause they want, only problem is where forced to race offline, cause cockpit no assits vs replay plus assits isnt FAIR. If it doesn't work, I'll change it next race. It seems like it might be a little easier to drive on the limit and make minor corrections. I do worry about the lack of peripheral vision, but we'll see.Įverything seems slower with a 45 FOV. Everything seemed so far away when I went back. I tried 45 FOV as the calculator says I should use for a few laps around Indy and I may have opened Pandora's Box. Maybe I'll look into it sometime, but I'm so used to the way I have it set now.ĮDIT: Hmm. Ideally, I think it would be best to have the FOV set so I'm closer to the windscreen, but then I'd lose a lot of peripheral vision, which I need without triple monitors. TBH, I've never changed it from the default of 78. I do think it makes it a bit harder to gauge where you are at some points of the track but everything else seems to make up for that. It's like getting a new pair of glasses when you've needed a new prescription for ages. Now, I don't like it at 45 because I lose all my other vision, but I guess that's what a spotter is for after all. I can only use a single monitor since there is nothing for 2, and my FOV was way too high. ![]() So something I saw mentioned that would help with my driving is setting FOV correctly. ![]()
